When should you consider getting customized training for your company over a standard course? Many factors need to be evaluated when determining if a standard training course in will meet your company’s training needs:
It is important to know why standard training may not work for you. Unfortunately, many times the reason why a company wants to look at specialized training had more to do with cost than the course content. Reducing the number of days of standardized training may reduce costs, but needs to be evaluated carefully to ensure all the pertinent information remains in the new customized course. When students are training to obtain a certification, many certification courses were designed to give specific information that will lead to success in passing a test. If a credential preparing course is shortened or information is taken out, then the desired results may not be achieved. Alternatively, a company may not feel certification is as important as getting their employees the information or skill set that is part of the training.
The best reasons for creating a customized course is to get specific training that cannot be found in a standard course or to shorten a standard course to provide only the material your company needs. Talking with a training company specialist about your specific requirements and desired time frame will allow the training providing company to give you options that will allow your company to make an informed decision.
