Christy Miller, RCDD, RTPM, DCDC, CT
BICSI Master Instructor 2010 - 2014
Industry Certified Trainer 2014 - current
Subject Matter Expert and Certified Trainer for DC125, PM110
Christy Miller, CEO BCL Enterprises, brings new technology and security solutions to clients. Through partnerships with architects, MEP firms, construction management and the end-user, she offers vendor-neutral solutions as a consultant. She does not sell any product, therefore has no "skin in the game" when it comes to the manufacturer. She brings ideas to the client to best serve their needs. Each client has different priorities, and she prides herself in looking at all potential solutions. Christy does not believe in a "cookie cutter" approach.
When I speak to people about the ICT industry, they always ask how I decided to make this my career. There isn't a "major" for this field in college. I followed in my Dad's footsteps. Most people became aware of the industry through the military, working for "Ma Bell", or a friend. As one of the small percentage of women in the industry, I want to change this. I am currently creating an Educational Platform that will allow a high school student to walk right into a career.
I am an RCDD, RTPM, DCDC, Master Instructor, BICSI North Central Regional Director, BICSI Board Member, a member of the Membership Outreach Development Committee at BICSI, member of the Education Standards Committee, and a member of the BIM committee at BICSI.
My firm is EDGE certified with the State of Ohio. One of my goals for BCL is to partner with Construction Management firms to act as the project manager for Information Technology Services. I am also an Owner's Representative for ICT.
I have been in the information technology industry since the mid 80's when the first PC hit the market. My career has been varied over the years. I started as a receptionist/shipping and receiving person, and worked my way up to running a multi-million dollar company. Since selling that business, I have worked for contractors, distributors, and a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment. Now, I am the CEO of BCL Enterprises located in West Chester, OH.
